The publisher of NN News Media, Mrs. Nkiruka Nistoran, has officially resigned from her role as South-East Coordinator of the Obidient Movement in Enugu State.

In a letter dated Sunday, 20th July 2025, sent via email to the Obidient Movement Consultation, she cited leadership failure within the movement as the reason for her resignation. “The values and direction we once stood for have been compromised. I can no longer continue in my role under the current circumstances,” she stated.

NN News Media recalls that Mrs. Nistoran previously urged Labour Party’s former presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, to reconsider his cabinet structure requests which went unanswered.

Speaking with our correspondent, she explained that her decision was based on professional standards. “I cannot work with a movement that does not uphold democratic values and instead promotes age-based discrimination,” she said.

She also criticized some members of the Obidient online community for allegedly threatening the ADC coalition if Mr. Obi is not granted their ticket. “Is this democracy?” she asked. “You can’t win democratic processes through threats and emotional pressure. The decision to award tickets should follow proper procedures, not be influenced by online mobs. That’s why I no longer identify with this movement I believe in true democracy,” she stated.
