Nollywood actor and politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is determined to replace President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in 2027 and form Nigeria’s next government.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise program on Monday, Okonkwo said the ADC is building a strong nationwide structure under its new leadership.
Addressing the party’s poor outing in the August 16 by-elections, where it lost all 16 contested seats, he argued that the results do not reflect the party’s true strength.
“We stand a chance in every election in Nigeria,” he asserted, adding that the current leadership, led by David Mark, should not be blamed for contests where primaries had already been concluded before they took charge.
Okonkwo stressed that 2027 would be the true test of the ADC’s capabilities, predicting outright victory for the party.
“We are going to form the next government in Nigeria. And send Tinubu to Bourdillon,” he declared.
On the party’s presence in Rivers State, Okonkwo confirmed that the ADC has expanded into all 36 states and identified former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as the leader of the party in Rivers, describing him as “the obvious party head” in the state.
