President Donald Trump announced that the United States carried out airstrikes in northwest Nigeria on Christmas night targeting ISIS militants responsible for attacks on Christians.

Speaking on Truth Social, Trump described the operation as “powerful and deadly” and warned that further action would follow if the violence continues.

“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a decisive strike against ISIS militants in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and killing innocent Christians at unprecedented levels,” Trump said. He added that the U.S. Department of Defense executed the strikes with precision.

Trump emphasized that his administration will not allow “Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper” and extended Christmas greetings to U.S. military personnel while reaffirming a firm stance against the militants.
