The African Democratic Congress ADC has officially launched free online membership registration across Nigeria as millions of citizens rush to join the party.
This follows the successful start of its nationwide registration and revalidation exercise in Abuja last month.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi said the new digital registration platform available at http://adcregistration.ng, was created to meet the requirements of the Electoral Act 2026. The law requires political parties to maintain updated digital membership registers.
According to the new guidelines, only members whose details are fully captured and verified in the party’s official digital register will be allowed to vote or contest in the party primaries.
Since the launch of the physical and grassroots membership drive in February, the party said it has recorded strong interest from Nigerians across different states and from those living abroad.
The ADC explained that the free online option is designed to remove barriers, make the registration process easier, and give every eligible Nigerian a smooth and secure way to become a member.
Members who registered on the previous platform must revalidate their membership on the new digital portal because additional mandatory information is now required to fully comply with the Electoral Act and guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
The party also encouraged support groups and associations to take advantage of the registration window by signing up on the portal and completing the onboarding process.
While introducing the new system, the ADC said its participation does not change its strong objections to certain provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which it believes give unfair advantage to the ruling party, as well as the timetable released by INEC.
The party restated its commitment to building a modern, inclusive, and people focused political movement that can provide credible leadership and deliver a better Nigeria for all citizens.
