Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has launched a fierce attack on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing the government of stealing votes to seize power in the 2023 election.
Speaking in Hausa at a public outdoor event, Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto and now a senator, told supporters and media that those in power openly admitted to using their own money to win the election despite losing the popular vote.
In a widely shared video, Tambuwal spoke bluntly about the failure of the government to execute any of the national budgets for 2023, 2024, or 2025. He demanded to know where all the allocated funds disappeared and answered that officials simply stole the money and kept it for themselves. The senator’s comments came during a Saturday gathering and highlighted his broader criticism of the current rulers.
Tambuwal also pointed to worsening problems in Nigeria, including rising insecurity, growing poverty, deep hunger, and high unemployment. He accused the government of failing ordinary Nigerians across many areas and warned that public money meant for development projects might be used instead to bribe voters ahead of the 2027 elections.
The speech quickly gained traction online. Supporters praised Tambuwal for speaking the truth boldly in front of a live audience eager to hear strong words on leadership and stolen votes.
