The African Democratic Congress has congratulated its members and leaders nationwide following a major Supreme Court decision that confirmed the party’s leadership structure.
The ruling recognizes Senator David Mark as National Chairman and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, settling internal disputes over the party’s direction and authority.
According to the party, the judgment is a strong validation of its leadership, organizational structure, and legitimacy. It reinforces that the current leadership team remains the rightful authority guiding the party’s affairs at the national level.
The ADC also praised the five member panel of the Supreme Court for delivering a unanimous decision. The party described the judgment as a positive reflection on Nigeria’s judiciary and democratic system, highlighting the role of the courts in upholding fairness and constitutional order.
Despite welcoming the outcome, the party stressed that the ruling does not mark the end of its challenges. It pointed to events leading up to the decision as evidence of ongoing interference, bad faith actions, and attempts to weaken opposition voices in the country’s political space.
The ADC made it clear that it will not be intimidated, distracted, or silenced. The party reaffirmed its commitment to offering Nigerians a credible political alternative and maintaining its role as a strong opposition force.
Members, supporters, and democratic stakeholders across the country have been urged to remain alert and engaged as the party continues its mission in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
