Young people in Benin City took over the roads today in a loud protest against President Bola Tinubu.
In a video sighted by NN News Media, they blocked parts of the busy Benin Lagos Expressway and held up signs that said they are tired of suffering.
The crowd of mostly young men walked through open areas waving handmade cardboard signs. One big sign read We No Go Gree. Tinubu must to go. We are hungry. Price must go down.
We No Go Gree means we will not accept this anymore in Nigerian pidgin. Protesters chanted President Tinubu must go and complained about high food prices empty pockets and daily struggles to eat.
This protest shows deep anger over hunger bad economy and hard living conditions across Nigeria. People say government help like rice has not solved the real problems of expensive goods and poor roads.
Locals joined the march under the hot sun with cars and poles around them. No major violence was reported but the strong message is clear. Citizens want real change and lower prices right away.
Many Nigerians say this is just the start of bigger pushback against the current hardship.
Everyday people in Edo State and the entire country have had enough. They want food they can afford jobs that pay and a government that listens. The cry from Benin City is loud. Tinubu must go.
