Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is gaining solid ground in the African Democratic Congress as several state chapters throw their full weight behind him for the 2027 presidential ticket.

With primaries set for May 25 and 26 Atiku has already cleared screening, picked up his forms and submitted them at the national secretariat.

Party leaders and stakeholders from five states have publicly declared support, calling him the best choice to unite the opposition and win the election.

In Kebbi State the full chapter endorsed Atiku after a delegation met with him to plan a stronger party front.

Enugu State leaders held a meeting and voted unanimously to back him as their top pick.

Abia State chapter members passed a clear resolution naming Atiku their preferred candidate for 2027.

Taraba State officials went further by endorsing him as the only presidential hopeful describing him as the most trusted leader.

In Yobe State key party figures and stakeholders signed off on full support after wide consultations across the state. These wins span northern and southeastern zones and show Atiku building wide appeal inside the ADC.

While Rivers State stays split because of local rivals like Rotimi Amaechi the overall picture favors Atiku as the clear frontrunner.

Atiku has promised to stand by whoever wins the primaries stressing the need for party unity. More states could announce their positions soon as the contest heats up. Analysts say these endorsements give him a powerful edge heading into the vote.
