A woman was caught on video tearing the face of President Bola Tinubu from large banners along a busy road in Cross River State.

The incident happened near a government construction site for Old Bank Road in Ikom Local Government Area.

She pulled and removed only the printed image of the president while leaving the faces of other figures on the materials untouched. Subtitles on the circulating clip note that she was vandalizing Tinubu faces and that those images were gone after her actions.

Nigerians on social media describe her as angry after seeing the president face and connect the act to deep frustration with the current administration.

Many Nigerians point to ongoing economic hardship and rising insecurity as key reasons for such public anger. Fuel costs food prices and transport fees have climbed sharply since major reforms began. Surveys show large numbers of people saying they feel worse off than before. Kidnappings banditry and violent attacks continue in different parts of the country forcing families to live in fear and disrupting farm work and trade.

The clip has spread widely across social media platforms since it was first posted. No official statement has come from state or federal authorities on the specific event. Local residents continue to share the footage while discussing daily struggles and government projects in the area. The banners had been placed to mark progress on the road work.
