Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has delivered on his promise to bolster security by refurbishing five neglected Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and handing them over to the Nigerian Police Force.

Upon taking office, Governor Otti found the vehicles in a state of disrepair. Determined to maximize government assets, he authorized their repair, emphasizing their long-term value.

“When we assumed office 20 months ago, on May 29, 2023, we discovered these vehicles in terrible condition,” Governor Otti recounted during the handover ceremony at Government House, Umuahia.

The governor highlighted the importance of maintenance, stating, “We believe that never again should our assets be allowed to deteriorate. Many things we discard can be easily fixed, and we have demonstrated this.”

Governor Otti urged officers to prioritize regular maintenance to avoid excessive repair costs. In response, Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, expressed gratitude for the governor’s unwavering support, noting that the refurbished APCs would enhance security operations.
