The African Democratic Congress has made its position plain and firm. The party says it is fully focused on its mission to rescue Nigeria from what it calls the failure of the current APC led government and to stop any drift toward a one party system.

In a statement issued by its publicity secretary Bolaji Abdullahi the party rejected claims that it will not field candidates in the 2027 elections. The ADC described those claims as false misleading and deliberately crafted to confuse the public. According to the party there is no truth legal or factual basis behind such reports and they do not reflect the reality of its ongoing preparations.

The ADC says it will present candidates in the 2027 general elections and not just any candidates. The party insists its nominees will be credible capable and widely accepted Nigerians who can lead the country out of its current challenges.

The party also stressed that it remains fully law abiding and compliant with the Constitution and the Electoral Act. It says there is no legal barrier to its participation in the elections and warned that any suggestion otherwise is a calculated attempt to mislead citizens and slow down its growing support.

Positioning itself as the main opposition force in the country the ADC says it takes that role seriously. It insists it is not distracted by rumors or political noise but is instead focused on real work. This includes building structures across the country mobilising citizens frustrated by insecurity rising living costs and limited opportunities and preparing not just to contest but to win.

The party called on its members supporters and Nigerians at large to ignore what it described as baseless claims. It said the stakes are too high for distractions and reaffirmed its commitment to staying on course.
