The Taraba State Police command on Thursday said it has arrested a suspected commander of the Cameroon Seperatists group, Ambazonia in the State.

The State Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Shokoya, confirmed the arrest during a dialogue with political parties ahead of the forthcoming the general elections.

The suspect, called General Basile, was nabbed in Kurmi local government area of the state.

Kurmi is one of the five local government areas of Taraba state bordering the Republic of Cameroon.

Shokoya said the suspect before his arrest had been causing mayhem in border communities of Taraba and Cameroon with his group.

He also said investigation was ongoing and assured that the suspect would be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of Nigeria. (The PUNCH: Text, Excluding Headline)
