Favour Chigozie Nwadinobi, a student at Premium Breed Secondary School in Nnewichi Nnewi, Anambra State, has won the title of top chemistry student in the region.

He is now among the six finalists to represent Nigeria in the 2023 International Chemistry Olympiad, which will be held in Switzerland.

In Anambra, Nwadinobi battled against pupils from more than 600 schools to become one of the finalists to represent the nation.

In his speech, Nwadinobi credited God, his professors, and his commitment to his academics for his success.

The state commissioner for education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, welcomed the team to her office at the State Secretariat Complex in Awka on Friday and reiterated that Nwadinobi’s accomplishment was proof of the state government’s unwavering dedication to giving Anambra students every chance to succeed academically at both the national and international levels.

Chuma-Udeh praised Nwadinobi and the school for their excellent efforts while highlighting the value of ongoing commitment and diligence.

She cautioned them not to take their success for granted because the state would be looking forward to a fantastic Olympiad performance.
