The Anambra State Government has announced plans to begin payment of a N70,000 minimum wage starting next month.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo made the declaration during a meeting with principals and head teachers of public primary and secondary schools, held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka.

In addition, the Governor revealed that the state will roll out a free education policy for senior students in all public schools next week.

He assured the audience that despite financial constraints, his administration is committed to delivering on its promises.

Governor Soludo also directed that senior students who have already paid their ₦5,000 school fees for the current term should be refunded.
