The Anioma Progressive Union Ghana Chapter has expressed its support for Senator (Dr.) Prince Ned Nwoko’s efforts towards the creation of an Anioma state to rejoin their kinsmen in South-East Nigeria.

In a letter to Nwoko, the union’s leader, Mr. Marshall Ebielim Ikemefuna, stated that the creation of an Anioma state would help address the identity crisis faced by the Anioma/Igbo people and provide a platform to drive their perspective into the larger Nigerian nation.

The union praised Nwoko’s approach to the Anioma agenda, stating that it is the first time someone has “gotten it right” since the late Chief Dennis Osadebe and BIC Ijoma. They believe that Nwoko’s call for an independent Anioma state will unite the Anioma people and give them a stronger voice within Nigeria.

The Anioma Progressive Union Ghana Chapter has pledged to support and drive this agenda through their media channels and platforms to gain the needed attention and community support within the Anioma enclaves. They have also invited Nwoko to address their members in Ghana, who are from various Anioma communities.

The union has encouraged Nwoko to remain resolute in his pursuit of the Anioma state creation, stating that posterity will be kind to him for championing this cause. They acknowledge that there will be challenges and discordant voices but have urged Nwoko not to get distracted from this important goal.
