Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appointed into committees to conduct primary elections for elective offices nationwide have cried out over non-payment of their allowances.

The party had constituted committees for the conduct of presidential, governorship, national and state assemblies’ primary polls ahead of the 2023 general elections.

A top party member who was member of one of the committees told Daily Trust that, “We used our personal money to travel to our various places of assignment. We fed ourselves and accommodated ourselves. It’s a known fact that cost of air tickets, hotel accommodation and other logistics associated with the trips were high.

“Some of us are highly respected party members that held various positions in our states, yet we have not been paid the allowances months after discharging our duties. It’s not fair.”

Two other members of the committees also confided in Daily Trust that they were yet to be reimbursed since the end of the exercise in June.

But the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr Felix Morka, told one of our reporters last night that “the matter is receiving attention and will be resolved soon.” (Daily Trust)
