Ade Omole, Director of Diaspora Directorate, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has called on opposition political leaders to embrace Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s president-elect.

He made the appeal while speaking in an interview on Sunday in Abuja.

Mr Omole urged the opposition to emulate world leaders who had congratulated Mr Tinubu as Nigeria’s president-elect.

He said that the allegations of electoral fraud surrounding the February 25 presidential election were not enough to discredit the entire process.

Mr Omole advised members of the opposition parties to sheathe their swords and allow peace reign.

He noted that world leaders had also started congratulating Mr Tinubu after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner of the controversial election.

Mr Omole listed some of the global leaders to include those of the United State through Ned Price (U.S State Department).

He said other world leaders that had congratulated Mr Tinubu included France President Emmanuel Macron; Ukrainian President Zelensky and President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, among others.

He added that the President of the Republic of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission had also congratulated Mr Tinubu as Nigeria’s president-elect.

He said Thabo Mbeki, former South Africa President and Head of the Commonwealth Observer Mission to Nigeria had also congratulated Mr Tinubu.

Mr Omole, therefore, advised members of the opposition, especially their presidential candidates, to follow the same path and congratulate Mr Tinubu.

He said that Nigerians in the diaspora were part of the success story, saying they would continue to work to protect Mr Tinubu’s mandate as he waits to be sworn in as the next president on May 29.
