Former Nigeria vice president Atiku Abubakar has welcomed the Supreme Court’s affirmation of David Mark’s leadership of the African Democratic Congress, describing it as a significant moment for the party while warning that the broader struggle is far from over.
He stressed that the ruling should not lead to complacency, noting that the mission to reclaim and rebuild Nigeria remains long and challenging.
He said the victory belongs to millions of Nigerians who have refused to give up on their future, commending their courage and resilience. He thanked them for their support and urged them to remain steadfast, emphasizing that the fight to rescue the country is still ongoing and requires constant vigilance.
Atiku also disclosed that he joined fellow leaders of the African Democratic Congress in a key meeting to map out the party’s next phase. He described the gathering as decisive, with a clear focus on strengthening the party and preparing it for the task ahead.
He stated that the ADC is determined to grow into a formidable political force capable of unseating the current ruling party, adding that the goal goes beyond politics to restoring hope, rebuilding national pride, and returning Nigeria to a path of purpose and prosperity.
