Ex-President Donald Trump has strongly criticized President Joe Biden for his declaration of ‘Transgender Visibility Day’ on March 31, which is also recognized as Easter Sunday by Christians.

Trump labeled Biden as an “enemy of Christians” and described his declaration as ‘blasphemous’, accusing him of showing disrespect towards the Christian faith.

Biden, in a proclamation released on the White House website on March 29, affirmed the love and acceptance of the transgender community in America. He stated, “We send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.”

He further proclaimed March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility and urged all Americans to join in supporting the lives and voices of transgender people across the nation, and to work towards eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.

The Trump Presidential Campaign Organization responded by accusing Biden of attacking the Christian faith with his proclamation. They expressed their disappointment that Biden’s White House had prohibited children from submitting religious egg designs for their Easter Art Event and had officially declared Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility’.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign National Press Secretary, stated, “These are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

US Speaker, Mike Johnson, also expressed his disapproval of Biden’s announcement, stating, “The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter — which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Banning sacred truth and tradition—while at the same time proclaiming Easter Sunday as “Transgender Day”—is outrageous and abhorrent. The American people are taking note.”

In the meantime, Trump is preparing to challenge Biden in the upcoming presidential election.
