Ibrahim Maqari, Imam of the National Mosque Abuja, has said, a Christian student, Deborah Yakubu killed in Sokoto State by Islamic mobs over alleged blasphemy crossed the red line.

A group of students of Shehu Shagari College of Education on Thursday, had murdered female course mate for insulting Prophet of Islam via a voice note sent to a class WhatsApp group.

However, Sokoto state government, has shut down the school, while the police arrested some of the Islamic mobs’ suspects.

But Maqari, via his twitter handle reacted to the development, saying that the Muslims have some red lines which must not be crossed.

He said: “It should be known to everyone that we the Muslims have some red lines beyond which MUST NOT be crossed.

“The dignity of the Prophet, PBUH, is at the forefront of the red lines. If our grievances are not properly addressed, then we should not be criticized for addressing them ourselves,” he posted.
