Senator Dino Melaye has won the governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State.
He was announced winner of the election by the returning Officer on Sunday.
According to the result, the former lawmaker polled 313 votes to defeat his rival, Idoko Ilonah, who polled 124 votes.
Mr Awoniyi Sunday score 77 votes, while Musa Wada polled 56 votes.
A total of 27 aspirants had declared interest to contest the primaries in the state, including former senator Attai Aidoko, Kebiru Usman, Abdullahi Haruna, and Zakaria Alfa.
