Following Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court Lagos granted the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, bail of twenty million naira with one surety.
The Department of Security Service (DSS) have disobeyed court order and re-arrested Emefiele after a serious face-off with Nigeria Correctional Services operatives over who will take custody of the suspended former bank chief.
However, the court had ordered that former CBN chief should be remanded in the correction center pending when he perfect his bail.
But the secret police immediately seized Emefiele after its operatives physically fought dirty with the operatives of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) who attempted to take Emefiele away in accordance with the order of Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
Recall that Emefiele was earlier today arraigned by the secret police over illegal possession of firearms and ammunition but was granted bail in the sum of N20million with one surety.
A trending video of DSS and NCS operatives were seen dragging and exchanging words over who will take Emefiele into custody.
Also, DSS operatives were seen manhandling Okoyi prison boss. He was dragged out of the courtroom like a common criminal, with his uniform torn apart.
While this was going on, lawyers of the former bank chief were busy in the courtroom working to perfect their client’s—Emefiele bail conditions.
