The Department of State Services (DSS) has released and apologies to a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Doyin Okupe.

Okupe was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, billed to fly to London via Virgin Atlantic before he was stopped by the secret police.

But according to the LP chieftain, through his twitter handle, said I was arrested and detained at the MM international airport, Lagos this morning 12th January on my way to UK for medicals years of my passport being withheld by the FHC Abuja. I have just left the EFCC office where senior officers in Lagos and Abuja apologized to me for the error. OCCUPATIONAL HAZZARD abi?, he stated.

Okupe was the director-general of the campaign of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi.
