President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Hakeem Odumosu, a retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and one-time Lagos State Commissioner of police, as the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This is according to THE EYES OF BAT, a frontline pro-Tinubu group.

Breaking the news shortly after 8:00 PM today, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, the group tweeted from its official Twitter handle, @theeyesofbat:

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Rtd AIG Hakeem Odumosu as the Substantive Chairman of EFCC.

“The approval is however subject to his Confirmation by the Senate.”

This indicates the end of the road for suspended EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa, who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), undergoing investigation.
