Mohammed H. Abdullahi, former Minister of Environment under the Buhari administration and a notable figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, has officially resigned from the party.
Abdullahi, who holds the traditional title of Magajin Garin Uke, submitted his resignation in a letter dated June 1, 2025, addressed to the APC chairman in Uke Ward, Karu Local Government Area. While he cited personal reasons for his departure, he did not elaborate on the specifics behind his decision.
In the letter, Abdullahi expressed gratitude for the support he received during his time in the party and recognized both his own contributions and the collective efforts that fostered the APC’s growth in the state. Copies of the resignation were also sent to the state and local government APC chairmen, signaling a definitive end to his role in the party.
His resignation comes amid increasing speculation about his political future. Abdullahi has been holding consultations with key political stakeholders across Nasarawa State and is widely expected to contest in the 2027 gubernatorial elections. Sources suggest he may soon align with an opposition party as he positions himself for the race.
