Prominent musician and social commentator, Charly Boy, also recognized as Area Fada 1, has raised a warning about a supposed scheme by the government under Bola Tinubu to detain Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential nominee for 2023.

Charly Boy contends that the alleged arrest is directly tied to Peter Obi’s ongoing critique of Tinubu’s governance and accountability.

In a statement released on X, Charly Boy warned against any efforts to arrest or press charges against the ex-governor of Anambra state, emphasizing that such actions would be met with strong resistance.

He declared, “There’s news of an arrest attempt on Peter Obi by Tinubu’s Government due to Peter Obi’s steadfast refusal to stop criticizing Tinubu for good governance and accountability. Any arrest or charges against Obi will be met with unprecedented resistance, and the Obidients are prepared for it. Tinubu’s government should tread carefully to avoid igniting a national crisis with an unlawful arrest of HE Peter Obi. We urge Tinubu’s government to abandon its malicious plans against Peter Obi because Nigeria will not remain the same,” he concluded.
