Renowned former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Moghalu, has sounded the alarm, asserting that corruption poses a grave danger to the very fabric of Nigeria.

In a compelling X on Tuesday, Moghalu emphasized that corruption is a primary factor contributing to the widespread poverty gripping millions of Nigerians, urging a steadfast and systematic approach to combat this menace.

Moghalu stressed the imperative of addressing corruption structurally, consistently, and sustainably to uplift the nation from its current state of economic adversity.

His poignant remarks come at a time when the nation is grappling with corruption allegations against the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu.

President Bola Tinubu’s decisive action in suspending Minister Edu following a N585 million corruption accusation underscores the commitment to upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in the management of Nigeria’s resources.

The suspension has triggered an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), marking a crucial step in investigating the alleged financial scandal.
