After Jumu’ah prayers on Friday, massive crowds gathered at the residence of former governor Rabin Kwankwaso, turning the neighborhood into a sea of supporters.

People came to personally deliver “Ramadan Mubarak” greetings, waving, cheering, and taking photos in a lively, festive atmosphere.

The gathering comes at a politically significant moment as Abba Kabir Yusuf recently decamped to the All-Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a major shift in Kano’s political scene. Observers contrasted this with APC’s previous rally in Kano, which reportedly had empty seats, highlighting the enduring influence of Kwankwaso and his network in mobilizing supporters.

Security was tight, but the mood remained celebratory, with many attendees expressing hope for stronger unity of Kwankwasyyy.
