Elder statesman and renowned business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has generously donated N1.5 billion to support victims of the devastating flood that recently struck Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

Dantata made the significant contribution during a visit to the Government House in Maiduguri on Tuesday, where he led a delegation from Kano.

Offering heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno, Dantata expressed his deep sorrow for those who lost loved ones in the flood. At 96 years old, Dantata lamented the worsening economic situation in the country and called on the nation’s elites and political leaders to act with integrity and fear Allah in all their dealings.

In addition to his donation, Dantata prayed for peace and unity across Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.

Governor Zulum, in response, expressed profound gratitude for the elder statesman’s compassionate gesture. He emphasized that the visit and donation serve as a beacon of hope and solidarity during these challenging times.

“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this act of humanity from a 96-year-old elder. Let me state, Baba has donated N1.5 billion to assist the flood victims. May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. Mu gode, Baba,” Zulum said.

This generous donation follows an earlier contribution of N1 billion from Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, aimed at supporting the same cause.
