The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon. Onoriode Ofoni, JP, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, celebrated the remarkable talent of Miss Ummul-khairi Ibrahim, a Fulani and Primary 5 student at David Ejoor Primary School, Effurun Barracks, Delta State.

In recognition of her outstanding poem presentation, titled “Together as One People”, at the palace of the Ovie of Uvwie, Miss Ummul-khairi was awarded ₦50,000 in cash, along with school uniforms, learning materials, and a long-term maintenance plan to support her academic growth.

Speaking at the Uvwie Secretariat, Hon. Ofoni expressed his commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting academic excellence in the Uvwie Local Government Area. He commended Miss Ummul-khairi for her creativity and dedication, giving her the honorary title “Efe,” symbolically adopting her as an Uvwie indigene. He encouraged her to stay focused on her studies and continue her exemplary work.

Miss Ummul-khairi’s father, Mallam Ibrahim, unable to attend due to a medical condition, was represented by his brother, who conveyed the family’s gratitude to Hon. Ofoni for his generous support of the young girl’s education and future.
