The Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), Yusuf Bichi, is expected to submit his resignation to President Bola Tinubu on Monday.

Insiders from the SSS headquarters, known as the Yellow House, revealed to DAILY NIGERIAN that Mr. Bichi informed his close aides of the decision upon returning to the office this afternoon.

Sources suggest that Tinubu may select a replacement from one of the current assistant directors within the agency.

Mr. Bichi was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari on September 14, 2018, following the tenure of Matthew Seiyefa, who had served as acting DG.

This news comes just days after Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), also submitted his resignation to the president on Saturday.
