Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has advised the suspended National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, to leave the party and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This comes after a faction of the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) suspended Damagum, along with the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
In response, another faction of the NWC also suspended key officials, including the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, deepening the party’s internal crisis.
Reacting to the suspensions via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, Melaye stated that Damagum had caused enough damage to the PDP. He urged him to peacefully join the APC, writing, “APC agent of destruction, enough is enough, Damagum. Go and join APC in peace. Bye-bye, Damagum, the harm you’ve done is enough.”
Melaye’s remarks highlight ongoing tensions within the PDP as internal divisions continue to surface.
