Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has delivered his polling unit for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, during the ongoing elections.

Obaseki cast his vote at Polling Unit 19, Ward 04, in Oredo Local Government Area, before touring other local governments to monitor the voting process.

The governor praised the peaceful conduct of voters, who turned out in large numbers to exercise their civic duty. He expressed satisfaction with the overall process and encouraged voters to continue cooperating with officials.

At the conclusion of voting in Obaseki’s polling unit, the presiding officer announced that the PDP secured 127 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 35 votes. The Labour Party candidate, Olumide Akpata, received 11 votes.

Meanwhile, sorting and counting of votes are still ongoing across several locations, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) extending the voting period due to delays in the arrival of election officials and materials.
