Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, presented a 2025 budget proposal totaling N396.6 billion to the state House of Assembly on Thursday.

The budget, titled the “Budget of Economic and Social Development,” aims to drive industrialization, economic growth, and an enhanced standard of living for residents of the state.

The education sector emerged as the largest beneficiary, with an allocation of N70.1 billion, followed by the health sector, which received N39 billion. These investments underscore the administration’s emphasis on human capital development and public welfare.

“We have introduced numerous curriculum reforms in basic and secondary education to prioritize technology and science,” he said. “Additionally, we are enhancing public school education by employing teachers specialized in technology and entrepreneurial training.”

The budget prioritizes the economic and social sectors, allocating N200.1 billion (50.46%) and N141.2 billion (35.60%) respectively. These sectors are expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the state’s developmental goals.
