In a bold display of defiance, protesters have regrouped in Tudun Wada of the Nassarawa Local Government Area in Kano State, despite a 24-hour curfew imposed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The curfew had been temporarily relaxed for five hours to allow Muslim faithful to observe Jumaat prayers.

Taking advantage of this brief window, scores of youth gathered on the bridge separating the Tudun Murtala and Tudun Wada wards to voice their discontent over the country’s economic hardships.

Waving placards and chanting slogans, the protesters marched along the bridge, their numbers swelling as more joined the demonstration. The atmosphere was charged with emotion as they sang and clapped, demanding immediate government action to alleviate their suffering.

A Daily Trust reporter on the scene captured the moment when a young man passionately addressed the gathering, rallying them with a call for unity and perseverance before they took to the streets.

Despite the risk of confrontation with security forces, the protesters remained determined, highlighting the growing frustration among the populace over economic conditions and governance issues in Kano State.
