The Enugu Global Network (EGN), a prominent socio-political organization, has commended Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for his transformative leadership, particularly in reclaiming the state’s legacy as the historic capital of the old Eastern Region.

In a statement jointly signed by EGN President, Prof. Oguejiofor Ujam, and Secretary, Hon. Malachy Onyechi, the group praised Governor Mbah’s strides in revitalizing sectors such as tourism, commerce, hospitality, and international business engagement.

“We have witnessed a leader in a hurry to redefine governance and restore the lost glory of Enugu State,” the statement read. “With the administration’s guiding mantra, ‘Tomorrow is Here,’ the governor has reignited hope and confidence, positioning Enugu as a top destination for investment and tourism.”

EGN highlighted several key achievements of the Mbah administration, including the restoration of portable water supply in the state capital and far-reaching education reforms across all political wards. These reforms, the group noted, involve updating school curricula with a focus on science, technology, and environmental sustainability, alongside the rollout of the Smart Schools initiative.

In the health sector, EGN praised the governor’s commitment to modernizing healthcare delivery, describing his administration’s approach as pragmatic and forward-looking.

The organization also emphasized that these achievements are in line with Governor Mbah’s vision of growing Enugu’s economy to $40 billion, a target they described as “realistic given the momentum.”

EGN further pointed to recent milestones such as the revival of key facilities including the long-dormant International Conference Centre and Presidential Hotel in Enugu, improvements at Enugu Air, and the introduction of CNG-powered commuter buses.

According to the group, “The caliber of national and international conferences hosted in Enugu in the past two months alone speaks volumes of the state’s renewed relevance and vibrancy under Governor Mbah.”

They concluded by urging the governor to maintain the current pace of development, while also lauding reforms like the digitization of the land registry and the introduction of an e-tax payment system initiatives they say lay a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth.
