Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah announced on October 22, 2024, the launch of the Nortra Tractor Assembly Plant and Service Centre in Enugu.

This initiative is a collaboration with Denmark’s ODK Group, aimed not just at acquiring tractors but at creating jobs, boosting local production, and transforming agriculture in the region.

Governor Mbah highlighted the significance of this milestone, noting it is a crucial step toward achieving the ambitious goal of growing Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion. Out of the planned introduction of 1,000 tractors, 800 will be assembled locally in Enugu, reinforcing the state’s commitment to becoming a center for innovation and development.

To ensure the partnership’s success, the administration will provide essential support to investors, including infrastructure development, enhanced security, and measures to mitigate investment risks. Additionally, favorable policies, access to local talent, and necessary utilities will be made available to guarantee the ODK Group’s long-term success in Enugu.

Governor Mbah concluded with an optimistic message: “Enugu is open for business. Tomorrow is here!”
