Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the esteemed Landmark Africa Group to revitalize and reposition the iconic Nike Lake Resort.
This collaboration, which forms part of a larger Public-Private Partnership (PPP), represents a major milestone in the state’s vision to grow its economy to $30 billion within the next six years.
Under the agreement, the Enugu State Government has entrusted the Nike Lake Resort to Landmark Africa Group, who will inject a remarkable N10 billion into the project’s first phase. This investment is expected to restore the resort’s former glory, attract up to two million visitors annually, generate numerous jobs, and significantly increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Nike Lake Resort, a key asset symbolizing Enugu’s rich history and potential, will be transformed into a world-class destination for tourism, business, and leisure. By partnering with Landmark, a leading name in the hospitality sector, Enugu aims to elevate the resort’s status to that of a global tourism and business hub.
This partnership is part of a broader strategy to drive economic development across the state. Governor Mbah highlighted that the administration has committed N800 billion this year alone to improving infrastructure, including the dualization of the Enugu-Opi-Nsukka Road, which will enhance access to the resort and stimulate further investment in the region.
Governor Mbah also extended an open invitation to prospective investors, emphasizing that Enugu is an ideal business destination, offering improved infrastructure, security, and progressive governance. He commended Mr. Paul Onwuanibe, Founder and CEO of Landmark Africa Group, for his belief in the state’s vision and for his contribution to restoring the iconic status of Nike Lake Resort.
“The future is here, and together, we will achieve great things for Enugu,” Governor Mbah concluded.
