Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, lauded Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, for his outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.

During a special ceremony on Friday, the governor announced a generous N20 million reward for Nwabali and declared him the recipient of the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State.

In addition to honoring Nwabali, Governor Fubara presented a N30 million gift to the Super Eagles’ crew who attended the event, recognizing their collective contribution to Nigeria’s success.

Commending Nwabali, a native of Rivers State, for his stellar display throughout the AFCON tournament, Fubara emphasized the pride brought to the nation by Nwabali and his fellow patriots.

“I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, our brother Stanley Nwabali, and our exceptional team,” Fubara expressed. “In just about four months since your local triumph, you’ve secured a national trophy. Our achievements, though not always tangible, bring immense joy and fulfillment to our people.”

Fubara reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting and motivating individuals like Nwabali, acknowledging that their success reflects effective governance and administrative prowess.

“I want to express my gratitude and assure you that we will continue to provide our unwavering support,” Fubara affirmed.
