Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has issued a strong warning to those involved in disruptive political maneuvers within the region, cautioning them about the dire consequences such actions pose for the state’s economic prospects.

Governor Fubara emphasized that engaging in such disruptive activities could potentially drive away investors from Rivers State, thereby hampering its economic growth and development.

Addressing the issue during an inspection of the ongoing construction of the 6.5km Woji-Aleto-Alesa-Refinery Link Road project on Tuesday, Governor Fubara stressed that those opposing his administration are not merely targeting him personally, but are in fact undermining the investment potential of the entire state.

In a statement relayed by his special assistant media, Boniface Onyedi, the governor underscored the importance of fostering a positive environment conducive to attracting investors. He urged genuine stakeholders to refrain from engaging in activities detrimental to the state’s reputation and economic prospects.

Governor Fubara articulated, “Any negative actions or influences are not directed towards me as Governor Fubara, but they are aimed at tarnishing the image and progress of our beloved state.”

Expressing his commitment to showcasing the positive attributes of Rivers State, Governor Fubara emphasized the need for concerted efforts to highlight the state’s potential and attract investors. He stressed that a thriving economy relies on a favorable perception in the eyes of potential investors.

Turning his attention to the infrastructure project at hand, Governor Fubara commended the progress made by the contractor, Raffoul Nigeria Limited. He acknowledged the significant milestones achieved and expressed optimism about the timely completion of the road construction, with expectations set for delivery within the next three months.

“We visited the site approximately two months ago to assess the commitment of the construction firm, and today’s follow-up visit reaffirms our satisfaction with their progress,” Governor Fubara remarked, indicating his approval of the contractor’s efforts.

The governor’s unwavering stance against damaging political activities underscores his dedication to fostering a conducive environment for economic growth and development in Rivers State.
