Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially appointed Edison Ehie, leader of his loyalists in the State House of Assembly, as his Chief of Staff.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s office in Port Harcourt, the state capital, where five others were also inaugurated as Special Advisers.

During the ceremony, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of unity and urged Ehie and other appointees to refrain from using their positions to antagonize individuals in their respective localities. The governor called for a commitment to the state’s growth, urging the appointees to set aside partisan interests. Fubara credited divine help for past victories and expressed confidence in surrendering the state’s political situation to God.

The newly appointed Special Advisers include Darlington Oji, who resigned as the Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike; Solomon Abel-Eke, the immediate past Chairman of Ohio/Akpor Local Government Area, which is Governor Wike’s hometown. Others sworn in include Prince Ohia, the former Commissioner for Youths Development; Aminayanasam Fiberesima, and Deeyah Bariene.

The swearing-in ceremony attracted cabinet members, including those recently re-appointed. Outside the Executive Council Chambers, Chief of Staff Edison Ehie expressed his commitment to realizing the vision of the Fubara-led administration.
