The ongoing turmoil within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has escalated with the emergence of new executives from Ganduje’s ward.

These executives have issued a renewed suspension on the party’s acting National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

Just last week, a faction of the party’s executives in his ward, led by Haladu Gwanjo, suspended Ganduje. Gwanjo cited alleged corruption and other offenses as the reasons for the suspension, which was agreed upon by nine executive members of the party in Ganduje’s ward.

In response, a separate faction, represented by Ahmad Ganduje, surfaced to express their support for the national chairman. They insisted that the ward officials were content with his leadership style.

However, the plot thickened when a group led by the ward’s secretary, Jaafar Adamu, revealed to journalists on Sunday that 11 out of the 27 executive members of Ganduje’s ward were the legitimate ward executives, legally elected on July 31, 2021.

Jaafar, who is also Ganduje’s nephew, stated, “We are the genuine executives of Ganduje’s ward and have passed a vote of no confidence, imposing a new suspension on Dr. Umar Ganduje for a variety of reasons.”

“Firstly, we have suspended Dr. Ganduje’s membership due to his role in creating internal conflict among party members at the ward level. Another significant reason for the suspension was the anti-party activities he instigated during the 2023 elections, leading to the party’s defeat in the state.”

He stressed that the two factions claiming to be executives were imposters, manipulated by Ganduje and other disruptive elements within the party.
