Abia State Police Command has confirmed the beheading of an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Aba last Tuesday.

According to the spokesman of the command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, the wicked act was highly condemnable.

He called for credible information on the criminal elements or on anyone found with a firearm suspected to be unlawfully obtained.

“The dastardly act is highly condemned and the public is enjoined to help with credible information on the perpetrators or anyone found with a firearm suspected to have been unlawfully obtained,” Ogbonna said.

He said the “protection of identity” of the informant(s) is assured.

News Band reports that the hoodlums, in the wee hours of Tuesday, May 2, 2023, beheaded the ASP in Aba in retaliation for their ring leader that was gunned down by the gallant police operatives on Sunday, April 23, 2023, and further threatened no rest for the residents and police in the city.
