The Lekki tollgate is heavily guarded by police officers, amidst the third anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.

Naija News gathered that a memorial walk was organised to commemorate the tollgate shooting during the nationwide #EndSARS protests of 2020.

Security operatives on the 20th of October 2020 reportedly fired live rounds into a crowd of armless young persons who had converged on the tollgate to protest decades of police brutality.

The death toll from the incident remains unclear, three years after.

At the time of filing this report, heavy presence of police officers attached to the Lagos police command are at the Lekki tollgate.

EndSARS Anniversary: Mr Macaroni Set For Peaceful Walk

In other news, popular Nigerian Comedian and activist, Mr Macaroni has announced a peaceful walk to commemorate the third anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.

The 30-year-old made this known in an Instagram post on Thursday, where he disclosed that the peaceful walk will honour victims of the October 20 protest at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.

Speaking on the anniversary, Mr Macaroni wrote: “3 Years now!!! We will Never Forget!!!#EndSars!!!!We will be walking peacefully to honour all those who lost their lives on 20/10/2020!!! We also walk for all those who have lost their lives as a result of police brutality in Nigeria!!! We walk in peace!!! We will never forget!”
