Amid media reports of his demise, Abiodun Ayoyinka, a popular Nigerian comedic actor who plays the lead character in the Wale Adenuga comedy series, Papa Ajasco, has clarified that he is not dead.

The stand-in character, Femi Ogunrombi was the late actor who died on Saturday, January 14, 2022 as revealed by one of the members of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP), Shuab Husseini, in a social media post.

Ayoyinka released a video on Sunday and thanked his well-wishers over their concerns about his life.

“My name is Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco.”

“I’m not dead. I’m still alive and thank you very much my fans out there for your concerns,” said the comedian who rounded off his video message with the humorous parting of his bald hair.

The actor was replaced by the late Ogunrombi in the cast when he stepped down from the series.

The drama series is produced by prolific writer, Wale Adenuga.
