World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala shared a statement on her X handle after a courtesy visit by representatives of the Geneva Igbo Union, a cultural and humanitarian organization.

The delegation, led by an Ikwere Chairman Mr. Opong Ifeanacho Egbo and Vice Chairman Mr. Chukwuebuka Edum, was commended by Okonjo-Iweala for their efforts to support vulnerable members of the community, both in Geneva and back home in Nigeria.

Okonjo-Iweala was pleased to learn about the union’s initiatives to support less fortunate members of the community, both in Geneva and in Nigeria. She also acknowledged their interactions with various groups from different regions of Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to advance and modernize the country.
