Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has suspended the Rector of the State Polytechnic, Aba, Prof Osonwa Okorie.

The suspension of the Rector was contained in a statement issued by the Governor and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr Chris Ezem.

The Governor appointed a new Rector, Associate Professor Hagler Okorie, to replace the suspended Okorie.

Meanwhile, no reason was given for the suspension of the former Rector.

But the removal of the ex-Rector and his replacement were with immediate effect according to the statement.

The new Rector is an Associate Professor at Abia State University, Uturu, and has a law firm in Aba.
