The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has received a Certified True Copy of the Supreme Court judgment that nullified the leadership of Julius Abure in the Labour Party (LP), reinforcing the commission’s dedication to neutrality and the rule of law.

A delegation of Labour Party leaders, led by Abia State Governor Alex Otti, visited INEC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday to formally present the judgment and engage in high-level discussions about the party’s current leadership structure.

According to a post on INEC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Governor Otti stated that the visit was intended to promote clarity, mutual understanding, and institutional harmony between the party and the commission.

INEC’s Acting Chairman, Sam Olumekun, and other National Commissioners received the delegation and engaged in dialogue focused on strengthening collaboration and upholding democratic principles.

Olumekun reiterated INEC’s steadfast commitment to impartiality, transparency, and adherence to the law in carrying out its constitutional duties.
