Bandits in the eastern part of Sokoto State have launched series of attacks on farmers.

Sources said they killed 11 peasant farmers last week in Gandi Dalike town in Rabah council of the state.

A resident said a large number of the bandits attacked the village on Saturday.

The Secretary to the District Head of Gandi, Alhaji Tukur Muhammad, said the attackers arrived about noon on that day and killed some farmers on their farms.

A leader in Gandi, Alhaji Idris Gandi, said four farmers who were working on their farm lands at Gidan Buwai in Gandi village were recently killed by the bandits.
