The international embarrassment has continued to trend in America as wonder how a drug trafficker is piloting Nigeria’s affair.

According to one of the speakers at Americans on X space, said the current of Nigeria president is a heroin supplier from the late 80s to the early 90s.

Tinubu had been embroiled in controversy surrounding allegations of drug trafficking, money laundering, and a disputed Chicago State University (CSU) certificate.

The allegations date back to the early 1990s when Tinubu was involved in a narcotic trafficking case in Chicago. According to reports, Tinubu was accused of laundering money and dealing in drugs, specifically heroin, from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. In 1993, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois released documents detailing Tinubu’s involvement in drug trafficking and money laundering. The documents revealed that Tinubu was the owner of ten bank accounts used in drug trade and was in business with another individual, Adegboyega Mueez Akande. As part of a plea bargain, Tinubu forfeited $460,000 in his bank accounts, which was seized by the U.S. government.

The controversy resurfaced in recent years, particularly during Tinubu’s presidential campaign in 2022 and 2023. His opponents have used these allegations to question his eligibility to run for office, citing the potential national security risks associated with a drug trafficker holding the highest office in Nigeria.

Regarding the CSU certificate, Tinubu has been accused of submitting a forged document. In October 2023, the Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled that Tinubu’s eligibility to run for president was not affected by the disputed certificate, citing that under Nigerian law, a school leaving certificate is the minimum educational qualification required for a presidential candidate, which Tinubu had submitted. Tinubu has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has maintained that the allegations are politically motivated. His supporters have also dismissed the allegations as old news and attempts to discredit him.

However, the controversy surrounding Tinubu’s past continues to be a significant issue in Nigerian politics, with many calling for greater transparency and accountability from political leaders.
